I’ve been a part of the DNA of DrFirst since 2000 and I’ve watched it grow and thrive over these years. The best part of working at DrFirst is that there are no limitations to what you can achieve if you truly commit to having the passion to make it happen. We still have that entrepreneurial, grassroots spirit even though we have over 350 employees now. Ideas are valued here, thinking outside the box is embraced here, and the best part is the philosophy of failing fast. You don’t have to be afraid of failure when trying something new or challenging, as long as you are measuring your results and tweak your efforts to continue to do better today than yesterday. How many companies encourage you to be creative every day? That’s life at DrFirst. One of my favorite memories was the creation of our superhero “DrFirst — the Doctor Defender” and his very own comic book series in Medical Economics magazine! I still smile when I walk past the costumed mannequin that hangs out in our office. Now he is joined by a slew of new Guardians of Healthcare like HIPAApotomus, Dr. Yesterday, Agent InfinID, MedHx Hunter, and more. What I appreciate most about working here is that everyone, especially upper management, has good moral character and strong values. That has a trickledown effect on the employees and is admired and recognized industrywide. As a company, people like working with us because we are honest, we don’t cut corners, and give our very best to each other and to our clients. In the 16 years I have been a part of DrFirst, I am proudest of being able to help grow and manage a wide variety of departments beyond my Marketing roots. The experiences I had while developing our Account Management, Telesales, Hospital Sales, and Marketing teams in their infancy have given me a diverse healthcare knowledge and understanding of the market and our internal operations. Although DrFirst is much bigger now, there are still so many opportunities for people to take on leadership roles and find their niche. Being a former client who could not have sung this company’s praises loud enough, I can testify to the fact that DrFirst is very good at establishing and maintaining strong relationships with their clients by taking action and focusing on and listening to the needs of the client. The vision and mission of the company to put health care provider needs first in an ever-changing environment is what this company stands by and continues to diligently work towards. I joined DrFirst in April 2010, because of a friend’s recommendation, as Software Engineer. I was pleased to see that it is a place where my talent and drive was quickly recognized, and I was promoted to Senior Software Engineer. I have had the opportunity to work on many challenging projects where I have learned a lot in terms of the latest technology and project management. More recently, I have been promoted again to Lead Software Engineer. My daily activities include interaction with clients for building requirements, working with architects to design the projects and collaborating with our developers and QA to successfully complete the project. DrFirst is a place where I can walk in and talk to our CEO on a daily basis, where we regularly interact with the President and all members of the executive management team. The HR team is friendly and knowledgeable. I am extremely proud of the work I do at DrFirst, and of the company as a whole.
Working for DrFirst has been one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences in my professional and personal life. When I joined it was clear this was a company poised to go big, they have dedicated people who truly care about making a difference in customers lives through their products and services. During my time at DrFirst I’ve been involved in numerous roles and projects that, had I been in another “big” company, I would never have been afforded. I started at DrFirst on a temporary contract and didn’t expect to work here longer than the length of that contract. However, after working here a few months and seeing the opportunities for both individual and professional growth I wanted to stick around. The impact that I make on DrFirst is to bring a calm into the storm of issues our employees face, when “things are just not working” I not only hear out the issues but also train our employees on how to avoid the issues in the future. Help desk is not just about making sure the Wi-Fi is connected, but also training employees on how to see issues coming and avoid them altogether.

Peers are helpful and excited to do the work that we do on a daily basis, and management is enthusiastically interested in employee development on all levels. I have been working here at DrFirst since 2013 within the Finance/Accounting Department starting as a Collections Specialist and now promoted to a Collections Team Lead.

I have been with DrFirst for three years now. I love that I work with a lot of hardworking and dedicated colleagues. I never seen so many folks willing to take an extra step and work hard with a lot of dedication towards getting the task done. It is the most motivating factor for me and I try to give my best as a result. It is incredible the way our Sysops, Development & Support team’s come together to resolve issues. We come together to solve any issue in the least amount of time. The hands on experience that you get at DrFirst is amazing. We have to solve challenging problems which put your skills to the test and sharpens them too. As a result of this kind of work I have seen folks who joined as Entry/Midlevel Sysops Engineers turn in to Leads who will provide solutions and complete a project on their own and also take care of it from end to end. There are not many companies where one DBA gets the opportunity to do every aspect of the job in a short period of time. And I hear the same feedback from most of my colleagues in their teams.
I have been with DrFirst since February 2012. I started as an intern on our Partner team and graduated from ASU the following May. The DrFirst culture is focused on growth-growth of the company, growth of ideas, and growth of the people that work here. I enjoy knowing that the company I work for wants to have each employee succeed because that will then help the company succeed. The management teams I have worked with have been great at understanding my skillset and helping me find the best areas of the company to work in to use that skillset and then grow to increase my knowledge and challenge me further. Since being an intern, I have worked as an Associate Account Manager for our partners, to an Account Manager, to my current role as an Operations Specialist where I focus on solving billing issues for partners to better the relationship while working on projects to streamline and improve our billing processes.
I have been part of System Operations team in DrFirst since 5 years and have seen this team and company growing and changing for good. Being in operations is fairly challenging with more expectations and responsibility. All of these challenges and responsibility has taught be a lot professionally as well as has contributed to my personal growth. They will give you opportunity to learn from your failures and be more successful eventually.

The best part of working here is once I step into work in the morning, time FLIES and it’s evening in fraction of second.
