Stethoscopes and Smartphones
Doctors have long been identified by the stethoscopes slung around their necks, and today smartphones are the newest instrument doctors wouldn’t want to be caught without. According to a 2009 Manhattan Research report 64% of physicians are using smartphones and this number is only growing.
Furthermore, MDsearch Smartphone Survey, 53% of physician respondents own a smartphone and 63% of those physicians are using mobile medical applications. The trend is for more and more doctors to use e-prescribing on their smartphones as an essential part of patient care.
