History of EPCS

In 2010, the DEA approved the sending of controlled substance prescriptions electronically. After two years testing in a government-funded program conducted in Berkshire County, MA, DrFirst has launched EPCS Gold 2.0 - the first ever e-prescribing system available on the market that legally allows physicians to electronically prescribe controlled substances.

DrFirst has been working closely with the DEA and Surescripts to develop EPCS Gold, our latest product offering which will allow physicians to securely sign and send controlled substance prescriptions per the DEAs requirements.
